Robbi Joy Eklow is a free-motion quilter, writer, and pattern and fabric designer who has been sewing since she was a kindergartner getting up early to watch moon launches. For a while her love of science and math overcame her love of textiles, and she earned a degree in engineering from Purdue University. Robbi started her first quilt in 1976, during the Great Quilt Revival. Today she teaches and lectures internationally, and her distinctive, hand-dyed quilts have won ribbons in many major shows. Robbi writes the humorous column "The Goddess of the Last Minute" for Quilting Arts Magazine. She lives in Chicago, Illinois.
